I was curious to see what mech. releases different ones of you use and recommend? I'd like to use a trigger style with a wristband attached. Also which is better a caliper style or ball bearing style release? Thanks!!

I can't tell you what is best for you, but I would stay away from the "ball bearing" types. They realy do a number on servings. I personaly realy like The Scott mongoose, I have tried many differnt release aids, and the mongoose works the best for me.

I bought a cheap release first time. Don't do that. I now have a Scott 'lil goose & love it. It's just like the mongoose, but a little shorter. You can adjust the length & trigger. Very smooth release.

I would take pdq's advice and not get something cheap. Here is what I use.

I bought the cheapest caliper release that Cobra made for my first year with a bow. I didn't want to invest a lot in case I didn't like bowhunting. Now, two seasons later it is still functional but has lost any smoothness that it might have once had.

Yhe Scott Mongoose or lil gooose are propely the best trigger release on market today. The pro shoot them.I dont think you can go wrong with one. I shoot a 15yr old hotshot 3rd finger with a strap,Carter gorilla for 3d.
