Default long brace height ???

What makes a bow with a long brace height better than a bow with shorter brace height ? I see this mentioned all the time but I don't understand it.

The longer brace is more forgiving than a short brace ,there is more room for flaw's in your shooting form.

I've never been one to worry too much about the forgiveness factor. I always go for a high brace height bows because, as a hunter in a cold climate, I don't want the string hitting my heavy jacket on shots taken with less then perfect form. For me, high brace heights serve more then one purpose on hunting bows. I'll pick a higher brace height every time, over a bit more speed.

Same here. Most of my thoughts when picking a new bow are focused on how well it will do in a hunting situation. I would easily take a larger brace height bow with a slightly more difficult to draw cam over a lower brace height model with a smoother cam for both forgiveness and sleeve clearance.
