I could use some helpin tuning my patriot. I have a quick tune 2000 and cant get my groups any smaller than about 2-3 inches at thirty. I shoot with a kisser and peep and toxonics sight. Sixty three pounds and about 340 Carbon Impact shaft at twenty seven and three quarters inches long. Let me know at sni1001per at yahoo.com

However, my first thought was about your sight pins. What size pin heads are you using? If the sight pin "bead" is of a larger size then it would cover more of the target area thus making it more difficult to get minute accuracy adjustments.

Bernie Pellerite makes a good point in his book Idiot Proof Archery. Bernie points out that if you take identical arrows and then take a bow that is horribly out of tune and put it in a hooter shooter, the hooter shooter will put the arrows in the same hole regardless of tune. Basically, he is saying that you can shoot great groups with horrible arrow flight so long as the shooter is capable. He also says that paper tuning is the best method of tuning for the bowhunter where as a left tail high tear tends to be best for competition so take it for what you will.

If your Pat is a single cam, try a 65% letoff. This will give you a little shorter draw and more holding weight which helps me shoot more accurately. If you've just recently got the bow,,, give it and yourself a little more time and practice.

What helped me drop from 2-3 " at 30 to 1-1.5" at 30 was a couple of things ! One took a long time.......I had to really practice on triggering my release . Seriously.....it took me a year or more of paying a lot of attention to my release before I could consistantly shoot without punching sporatically ! The other was easier....... I got a sight with a round pin guard and a peep that matches up well with it. I started centering my pin guard instead of the pin !!
Good Luck !!
