Mr Onieda,
I think posting questions on message boards that are frequented by people whom you have no clue who they are, you have to expect some people are not the niceest. You cant expect to walk into a room of people you have to expectg that not everybody is going to be nice. I will also say that often times people will answer a little toungue and cheek, its often hard to tell sarcasim in type. My advise is post a question and then read threw to find the answers you are looking for. Believe it or not, there still are good people out there!
I'm sorry you have had a bad expierince. Get over it and move on!
I will slightly disagree with you, a $100 bow will not kill every deer just as good as a $1000 bow. Maybe for a 5 yard total broadside shot maybe. Thats like saying a $100 car will get you to work everyday just like an expensive car. No, usually the cheep car will break down more.... Havn't heard of a YUGO in a while?

Rangeball, you've got this way about you of saying the perfectly wrong thing at exactly the right time. ROTFLMAO!

onieda -- Man, sit back and take a deep breath. Maybe a couple cups of decaf.
I don't much care what bow someone's shooting. Every manufacturer has turned out a piece of crap bow from time to time. (Some more than others.) I've had a few problems with Hoyt bows but, overall, their track record over the past 20 years that I've been shooting them has been outstanding.
Hoyts are overpriced? Darn straight they are! So are Mathews and BowTechs and Martins and Dartons and so on and so forth, etc and etc... Dang near every maker of compounds and traditional bows as well. You see, the manufacturers have discovered that there are a whole lot of people with a whole lot of disposable income and those people are more than willing to dispose of their income on overly priced archery stuff. And the same thing holds true for every other product you can think of. It's called free market economy and they're freely asking every penny they think their products will bring.
If people don't want to pay their price, they won't buy. If enough people don't buy, the price will come down.
Sorry you had problems with your Hoyt. The odds of having another limb delaminate on you were very slim but, when you lose faith in a bow or maker, then you made the correct choice to take your money elsewhere.

I've owned 'em all (except bowtech
)and there was something I loved about them all. Loved the draw of the Maverick, loved the "Feel" of the Martin, loved the traditional type look of the Oneida, the PSE for their great customer service and solid product and the Polaris Express was resonsible for my first harvest, the Havoc was perhaps my favorite as far as overall feel and shootability but gave it up in protest of their new ugly TEC risers
, and now the MQ1 because it is QUIET!! They are all great bows. And truth be told, the $90 Polaris Express would have killed every animal I've ever taken as easily as the above mentioned bows. But what fun would that be??

Overpriced? Depends on who you ask. This is pretty much my only hobbie. I spend a great deal of time on the range and field every year with my bow and equipment. Is my 700 dollar bow overpriced? Not me me. I get every penny's worth out of it just tinkering and shooting it and the goodies I put on it and try. On the other hand, I could be dumping mega bucks each night at the local watering hole. (does happen once in a while
) Especially when my hunting buddies are around.
To each their own. No, I don't need to spend what I do on archery stuff every year, but I do because I simply enjoy what I do.
