Default turn down the poundage for off season?

I was just wandering what is the best way to store a bow for the off season...ill still be shooting some, but realistically not nearly as much as pre season because i took time off from work and school to hunt i cant take much more.plus it gets dark a lot earlier. anyway, should i just wax it and leave the poundage up or should i turn the poundage down to take tension off the string. Thanks for the help.

I personally have never backed off a bow. I leave it where I shoot it. I don't think the 10#s or so of stress you take off the string/cable(s) is gonna due much...

Yes. Strings can even break while in storage. It happens all the time. But I agree that it's not worth the effort to turn down the draw weight.

Assuming modern materials, both, probably more so when being shot and encountering the most force, but once they stretch to a certain point, they pretty much stop.

Ditto whats an off season.

Just because deer season is over that dont mean there is nothing to hunt.
Spring turkeys, hogs, coyote's and 3d.

I am busy all year round

Same here...though I do tend to shoot it a bit more than what you related.

I back my bow down all the time, but it's usually from having shot more then I should have, and I have to give my tendonitis a break.

Off-season []. I agree with Ausie-guy. There is something to shoot at year round. If nothing else, put a pillow bag in your garage and just practice drawing to keep your strength and form up.
