Change the cams, change the string & cable?

Default Change the cams, change the string & cable?

I'm looking at swapping my 27" Q2XL cam for a 29" cam. It worked out that a guy was looking for a 27"er and I was looking for a 28.5 or 29"er. We probably will just directly swap cams.
Now, should we swap strings and cables as well? I would guess yes, but I'm not 100% sure. Even if his string isn't in the best of shape, it could be used as a backup for some outings. Same with the cable.

Thanks again!

Varmint, thanks for the info. I was told that you don't need to switch strings or cables for 27-29" draw, but I would of for a 30" draw. I dropped you an e-mail about the cams thinking that you were the person I am trading with, guess it was just a coincidence that I'm trading with a different person... a 29" cam for my 27" cam.

Good info. Going from 29" on MQ2 to 28 to get hard set, then will try one of the prestretched strings with that and will change the rest to a fall away type this year with a stiffer arrow to try tighten groups on outside.
