How often do you change your bow string?

ummm... change the bowstring?? I just buy a new bow.. haha. When the string shows signs of wear or fraying I change it. Other then that I have no set time, like every year, or anything.

yeah usually i just wait until it starts to show signs of wear. but i have had to change mine when the string broke. i don't know how exactly it broke but i guess something rubbed on it or an animal(sisters dog i think) chewed on it enough to weaken it enough.

I make my own so I change them every year and the cables every two if I have the bow that long. If you keep your strings longer than 2 years be sure to keep the waxed....keep them moist and they will last but let them dry up and your asking for trouble.

I change mine once every year I have always thought that its cheap insuranceif you go out west or on a remote hunt it would suck to have astring break 14 miles in .
