What distances do most of you guys set your sight pins at? Do many of you shoot with just one pin? A guy at my local pro shop said I might should do this and I' m pretty sure my bow is fast enough. He said he just shot with one pin at 18 yards and it was only about and inch off either way for any other shot. Only second year for me to ever bowhunt so it is unlikely that I will be taking shots over 20 yards. Shooting with one pin sounds great too me. I' ll post my bow specs if I should need to but I wanted to know what everyone else did. Thanks

I use a 20, 40 and 60 yard Pin. Most all shots at game are within 30 yards. With my new bow I find that this is all I need. I have been Archery Hunting for about 30 some years with a Compund Bow. Before that it was with a recurve Bow no sights, pins or anything just bare bow

i have a 20,30,40,50,55 i would have went 60 instead of 55 but ran out of room im going to use these for elk hunting because i have them already set up for 3d it just depends on the area ur going to hunt around the house here i could stay with a 20 and 30 and b just fine have u looked into a moveable hunting site with just one pin or a moveable with 3 so u can set it and have ur 20,30,40 or move the whole thing and just go by ur top pin if u have time to set a site vital bow gear has some awsome moveable and pin sites

I have an older sightmaster pendulum (sp) sight with a single verticle pin. I have marks for 20-60 (by 5) yards. But in the stand I usually have it at 20 or 30 depending on which stand I am on. With the newer, quicker bows, there is not a heck of alot of difference between the two. But I always practice for any situation. I shoot alot at 20-40 yards with my 20 yard mark, and the same with the 30 yard mark. Now my brother has a newer style sightmaster sight, which has x number of horizontal pins. He uses two. And the setup is very nice. It gives him a lower pin of x, and an upper pin of x+10. And it holds pretty true all the way for 40-50 yards (that' s as far as he has tried). Plus, it gives him a nice tweener guess at the mid range distances (25, 35, etc...). So one mark can give him 20, 25, and 30. I don' t like a whole lot of pins, gets in the way of the target for me. But, we are also both colorblind (don' t let me get started on tracking deer), and multiple pins, with multiple colors are very difficult for us. When it is time to change sights, I' m going with his system. Hope that helps.

One pin is awsome. I set it at 20 yards. From 0 to 20 I' m off by an inch, at 30 I aim 3 1/2" high. No clutter, no split second confusion. My max shot distance is 30 yards. If its greater, I would suggest more pins.
Good Luck!
