Mathews Legacy Draw Length

Bought a Legacy in a MDF auction last year. My first bow. It came set at 60lbs with a 30" draw length. I took it down to the local Mathews dealer becuse I wanted a shorter draw length. I thought I needed to get new cams and string. But they moved the string around another pin on the cam. I shot the bow about 1000 times but started to get frustrated with it because it was erratic. Thought it was because of my ability. Just recently after finding out I drew a NM archery Elk tag I wanted to get this realigned and tuned by the local pro shop (Not the Mathews dist.). They did and found that because of the rerouting of the string the current draw weight is 50 lbs. and is maxed out. Also the arrows I orginally bought are too stiff for this setup.
Question is do I
A. Stop now go purchase the cams and string to make the draw length.
B. Stay with current setup. 29" draw - 50 lbs
If A then has anyone been able to go direct to Mathews to trade out cams or something like that.

Are you sure the bow was at 60lbs. to begin with?Something just doesn' t add up here.Anyway,to get a shorter draw length you need the different cam--did you try putting the bow back to the original set-up and checking the poundage?Sounds like something got screwed up when they worked on it.jmo.

Your Mathews SoloCam bow comes set at the longest draw length setting unless
your retailer has indicated otherwise. Mathews offers several cam sizes to help
ensure optimum draw length and performance for your measurements and
shooting style. The draw length on your bow is adjustable on the cam a maximum of
one inch down from the peak draw length. This is accomplished by moving the
string loop to any of three adjustment posts on either side of the cam. The number
1 post would be the longest draw length for that particular cam. For example: to
shorten the draw by 1/2 inch, the string would be moved to the number 2 post on
both sides of the cam. The Mini MaxCam can be adjusted down from its peak draw
length, approximately1/ 2 " . This is accomplished by moving the string loop to the
secondary post on the cam.

The Maxcam and Minimax cam are adjustable . The straightline cams are not adjustable and require a new cam, string, and cable to get the correct draw length.
The Legacy has a version of the straightline cam.
Something does not sound correct at all !
Please check the numbers on your cam and let us know what they are ?

Download the manual from Mathews site and the check the numbers on your cam just to make sure you have the right cam. As far as changing string and cables, again check the manual because some bows use the same string and cable lengths for a variety of draw lengths. And I`ll add that I don`t think that if I drew a NM elk tag I`d take a 50lb bow, go for more draw weight, better to have to much bow than not enough.
