Smoky:
Since no one else has posted a reply, I will try to help.
I have not shot the Mustang. I guess you are talking about the Mustang that is offered by Cabela' s. I do have a bow, the Darton Viper, that uses the same riser as the Mustang. To keep the response short, my bow is quiet, fairly fast, and I can shoot it more accurately than most of the more modern bows I tried to replace it with. That would include a High Country carbon riser bow, a Firebrand Discovery, two Darton CPS bows, and two Mathews bows. In my hands, the Viper out-shot them all. The cam system on the Mustang is the one used by Proline bows. You can get more information about the cam system at their web site.

This bow is obviously not the fastest out there, but I don' t trust Cabela' s posted speeds. It should be a good bow for the money.
If you are talking about an older Darton Mustang, it would have a shorter riser with a " self grip" or no plastic grip piece on it. That bow featured Darton' s magnesium High Energy Wheels (like the Viper has). These are very smooth drawing cams with good speed for the smooth way they draw. If you are looking at an older used Mustang, it will probably be one of those. Still a good bow, if you are getting it at a good price.
I am guessing from your signature line that you are a Marine at Camp Lejune. My nephew was stationed there, but was just discharged(after a scenic tour of Bahgdad)!
Hope this helps. Good luck, and thanks for serving us.[8D]
