RE: 2002 Bowtech Patriot finish??
I have had my PAT for about a year now, and the finish hasn' t worn anywhere but around the grip, but it hasen' t even worn enoufgh to worry about. I have shot this bow at least 4 times a week since I bought it, and it is still in showroom shape. I can' t say why it is wearing off but it might have to do with what kind of sling that you are using. I made my own finger sling up and it is made out of a really soft rope so it doesn' t wear on my finish, but you may have a sling that is wearing your finish, might be something to check out.

RE: 2002 Bowtech Patriot finish??
I seem to remember Martin taking care of an issue like this before. I don' t know who Frank is referring to but- why so secretive PA?:D
I' d hate to think Bowtech wouldn' t work with me if I had premature finish problems with my 40. I know Mathews has replaced a guy' s bow that he ran over with his truck on accident. You' d think " premature" problems with the finish would be taken care of. You have to draw the line somewhere though. -Chief ![]() |
RE: 2002 Bowtech Patriot finish??
I have had an 02 Patriot for 1 year. I shoot 2-3 times a week and have had no camo problems. For the guy who' s sides of the limbs are wearing, how are you transporting it, and what kind of case are you using?
Good Luck! |
RE: 2002 Bowtech Patriot finish??
I really could care less about a camo finish wearing out. But I can see guys being pissed if ths bow is only a few months old. When your paying 5-6-7 hundred you would hope your getting quality in every aspect of the bow.

RE: 2002 Bowtech Patriot finish??
I agree that if it were to come straight out of the box with a bad job it should be and would be replaced or repaired, but after 5 or 6 months how can any company tell how the bow was treated and how the film dip came off? Bug sprays, solvents, etc., etc. will take it off... Even a bow case can take it off especially if flying with it.
Trying to get the film dip redone would be like me telling a car dealer... My car has 10,000 miles on it and the brake pads are worn out, but I didn' t use the brakes " that hard" so will you replace them for free?... JMHO... It' s a normal wear part... |
RE: 2002 Bowtech Patriot finish??
Camo Shmamo. Who cares if it comes off. Does it shoot straight?
|
RE: 2002 Bowtech Patriot finish??
Now Now Kelly you know that when some of the camo comes off around the grip it causes you to torque the bow due to the uneven grip you now have to use and as a result the arrows fly all over the place[:o];):D

RE: 2002 Bowtech Patriot finish??
GGEEEZZZ! That' s it! You are torquing your bow and the finish is coming off!!! I' m working on eliminating my hand torque, I just cut the holy crap out of my thumb on my band saw:( and it didn' t take very long at all[:o]!!!!
