Thanks for the review. I haven't shot any new Bowtechs..afraid I might want one
I just got a new unused 08 82nd at used price($500)and I honestly don't know if I will ever buy new again. I am thinking that from now on I can wait and buy a bow a guy trades in as he has to have the latrest gr8est and I save $300. These new bows just aren't advancing in leaps and bounds like the way they were a couple of years ago. Take your Allegiance; smooth VERY fast, nice draw, and no shock or vibration at and after shot. How do improve that? My thinking doesnt do much for the economy though.[8D]

hardcore, I totally agree with you. I can't justify the 800 bills on a new one anymore when you can wait one year and save a lot of money on a left over or a good used one. It's starting to be a lot like the auto industry.
I'm not saying the new bows aren't outstanding. But for my personal taste, I don't see where the advancements are so far ahead that I need to have one. I'll give it a couple more years.

Actually guys they are some improvements on the newer Bowtechs. But are the improvements worth the $150 increase...well I would join you guys in saying the prices are going overboard.
Improvements like removing the string supressor from the cable slide arm and mounting it behind the stabilizer, changing the center pivot to a floating system as against using a bezel and bolts, using screws at the limb ends as against e-clips, being able to adjust the DL in the smallest of increments, are some of the changes on the 09. Is this worth the extra $150, in my opinion...'no'. The bows should have been put together this way in the first place. It just a way the bow manufactures use to draw more money and eventually they'll shot themselves in the foot.
I honestly feel the 2009 prices are now pushing the limits and this could be the 1st year in the last 10 years in which I'll not be buying the latest bow.

09 the Admiral is $829 suggested retail with vast improvements over previous CP bows. The General was $799 suggested retail in 08.
I don't see that big a change from prices a year ago. As far as needing a New Bow? I doubt very few guys that buy a New Bow need one, but............................................... ..... that's not the reason we buy one.
It's called Want One. I can sell a bow that is a year old and get a fair return, but a 2 year old bow and value has fell off considerably. I've owned at leastone new bow every year for as long as I can remember.
Most years more than one!
I don't spend money on any other hobbies.Bowhunting/Archery isjust my thing!Dan

MeanV, yes I'm shooting the smooth mods.

That makes the CP bows feel Smooth to me!
The feel of a draw is more about familarity than anything else. If you shoot the bow a few weeks you will not even notice a change. 60# is 60# and 70# is 70# you may get it quicker and pull it longer in some draw cycles, but if a person is not over bowed they will quickly adjust to a different draw cycle.
The Ally definitely is one of the all time great hunting bows ever made. Although the way my 82nd performed this year. It is one of my all time favs now!
