Front Of Center (FOC) Question
#1
I have read a few things about FOC and understand it and the whole concept is basic common sense. But what i am confused about is that i have seen that majority of people it seems that its best to have and FOC of 10-12%. My question is why stop there? Why not get as much FOC as you can? Whats the affects of haveing an FOC really high?

My arrows have a 24% FOC and hit like a Mack truck.

The speed freaks are gonna say loss of speed anda less flat tajectory leading to bigger pin gaps.

It really causes your arrow to drop? i would think it would be more stable during flight that it would have a more flat trajectory. How much of a speed loss we talking? A few feet per second or is it a trastic change in speed?

High foc equals forgiveness , good arrow flight especially with broadheads , and if you are a hunter , better penetration
Im running around 14 to 15 now and would love more

I think he meant drops more because of overall arrow weight. If given 2 arrows both weighing 500 gr total, one with 12% FOC, the other 24%, I doubt there will be a noticeable difference in trajectory. After shooting traditional gear with a high FOC, next years setup for my compound will have a high FOC too.

well i ment a heavier tip. take the same arrow with a 85 grain tip vs one with a 125 grain tip. That will change the FOC but will it drop enough to notice? Im not really seeing how it would. Yea now the arrow weighs a little more but at the same time you just moved the FOC forward more so its a little more easier for the fletching to stablize the arrow. I guess the best thing for me to do is just mess around with some different arrow setups and see what happens.
