nocking point question

Default nocking point question

I just had a new string put on my bow and i think the pro shop put the nock point to high becouse now my bow shoots about 4 inches low is this what would happen if the nocking point was to high

Can't you tell by just looking to see if your arrow is square? If your arrow is tilled up, then bring the nock down a bit.

yea i can see that it is above square but mathews recomends you to put the nocking point alittle above square if it is above sqaure to much would that be the reason for it shooting low

your peep is probally is just a tad higher than what it was in the other string that will cause it to shoot lower or maybe it is the opposite way around but that could be it.

Yep, most recommend that, but I square it up... Just bring it down a little and see that it does. Dont move your peep if it's right. Draw your bow back with your eyes closed, open your eyes when your at full draw, if your peep is perfect then it where it needs to be. If not then adjust it.

A little high means 1/8-1/4" that isn't much.

If the bottom of the nock is above the centerline it is too high. I also recommend that you put it down to square and see what happens.

To answer your question. Yes, a high nock can make you shoot low...but so won't a low rest or a bunch of other things!
