Default RE: help me find a good finger rest

timbow, like I said earlier, most of the guys shooting the Star Hunter, back in the good old days when most of us shot fingers, always used a plunger to back the side blade.

How much tension you need on the side contact point, whether a blade or a plunger button, depends on how well your arrow spine is matched to your bow and how clean your release is. Folks backed the Star Hunter's blade with a plunger because it wasn't stiff enough on it's own for their shooting style. And the plunger allowed them to fine tune the pressure.

I've taken a good look at the Timberdoodle (never shot one though) and it's blades are a lot shorter and stiffer than the Star Hunter's. A good thing about it is you adjust the side pressure with the carriage spring, so the clearance between the blades isn't messed with while you're trying to get tuned in. That is another gripe I have about the Star Hunter.

I might just try a Timberdoodle myself.
