i hear alot about cam lean on bows.can anyone tell me what this is and it is bad? can a person look at the bow and tell if cam lean is there and how is it corrected?

In my non expert opinion cam lean is the right or left lean on your cams as if you were looking at it from the back of your bow in a vertical position. To cure this problem on split bus cable bow you need to twist one side of the Y to offset the lean.The part where it splits into smaller cables about 4 inches from the end. You must also have (not sure of the technical term) a cable that doesnt float at the Y. I dont think there is much you can do on single cam bows but i am not for sure.

It's really dependant on the cams and the type of bow you have. Basically what it is is your cam tipping off to the side the cable guard is pulling it as the cables load during the draw. Taller cams on shorter ATA bows tend to exhibit it more than say a wheel bow with a long ATA length. It can be corrected with a 'Y' yoke system or a shoot through system (where you are actually shooting between the cables that are seperated with a spreader system). Otherwise you've just got to live with it and hope that A.) it's not that radical and B.) it's consistant from shot to shot.

Is there a certain kind of bow where cam lean is most prevalant?

The worst I've seen is on the '05/'6 Binary cams. I've seen as much as 3/4" travel on those and you can't correct it due to the lack of a yoke system. The Binary cams have since been re-engineered to reduce the problem.
