I probably know the answer to this but I will ask anyway. Bowstrings, for compound at least is made of some synthetic material, I am not sure what kind, but its strong and works, except when you put your bow down on your stand and accidently barley step on it, it frays. My question is why couldn't we use some heavy nylon type of string for bow strings, like the para cord insides? It doesn't really stretch and is pretty strong and could take some minor abuse and last a good deal?Sorry if its a dumb question. As always, thanks in advance.

I suspect it has to do with weight. Comparably that stuff is very heavy and you would loose many FPS. I would also suspect that that stuff would creep quite a bit being made of nylon.
