Need help with my target arrows!!
#1
I am trying to setup some target arrows and I'm trying to figure out if i should put feathers or vanes on my arrows. I'm trying to to get the lightest arrows possible to get the best speed out of my bow.
Thanks

Feathers will be lighter than vanes, if that is what you are striving for.
You can find some smaller feathers which wouldn't weigh much (I saw on Lancaster Archery Supply a 1.75" feather right at 1.5 grains)....or just look around for the lightest vane possible if you prefer vanes over feathers. (1.5" Flex Fletch was nearly 2.8 grains)

Would 1" blazers work?

If this is for indoor, I don't know why you would be wanting to go with speed anyways?
If this is for 3-D, the size of the vane may be determined by which association you will be shooting in. Some clubs or shoots have a minimum fletching length. So that will be the driving force in your hunt for fletchings to build your arrows.

Remember that if your looking for speed feathers will be faster out of the chute simply because they are lighter. BUT...because they cause more drag will slow the arrow down a lot faster. So if your shooting 3D's you might find your pin gap opening up past 30 or 40yrds.
