There is a place called Bordys in New Jersey. The guy is selling them for 659. He's located in Florham Park.

It's illegal for various sellers of a particular product to actually enter into an agreement to fix prices above what the market would normally support, but it's not illegal for a manufacturer to say that dealers of their product must charge at least a certain amount for specific items. My wife and I were in the market for a new washer and dryer recently and more than one store told us that the prices on the models we were looking at (the Neptunes, I think?) were set by the manufacturer so they weren't affected by sales and would be the same everywhere. I checked about 20 different places and they were right.

It can pay to shop around. There are two Mathews dealers with 25 miles of me that are a full $100 difference in their prices on the different models. I do all my own bow work, so I don't care too much what shop I give my business to. If I were to buy a Mathews, it would definitely be at the one with the best price. None of my local shops are good enough to make me want to give them my business no matter what. If you're going to rely on the shop to do all your bow work, then you may want to factor that into consideration when deciding where to purchase it.

Fair trade act law, if I understand it right it is illegal for Manufactuer to set prices for Wholesellers. They can reccommend and later drop delaer for some other reason but they cannot stop wholeseller from selling at cheaper price. Here in Ok. Mathews, Hoyts sell cheaper than rest of country from what I have seen.

I know that most places are pretty well set by the economy of the town.Bigger cities usually mean higher prices.Wether its milk, cigs or gas.It really depends on your towns ability to afford the products.

I'm guessing your question is for me, so I'll try to explain. The two shops that carry Mathews, are okay, but not exceptional at anything. They do not have superior bow techs. Their service is average at best and they do not go out of their way to treat me as a valued customer. Many would say that I'm not a valued customer so why treat me like one. I say a shop that takes that attitude is doomed to lose many potential customers. It's their responibility to treat me as a valued customer in order to earn future business. If they don't care, then I don't either. I will spend my money where I get the best deal on price, and continue to do my own bow work. You guys who have an shop that does the little things necessary to earn your repeat business, are lucky. I think the vast majority of shops do not fall in that category.
