bow: golden eagle
talon turbo bow package (as stated on sticker)
adv.dac.wheel rh
80% (let-off)
55-70 (draw weight)
28 29 30 31 (draw length)
cam has an h-5 designation on it
ata: 41 3/4" (as i measure)
brace height: as i measure 7 3/4 to string side of riser 8 to rest
what i have on it:
hha infringer sight
golden key futura rest
peep sight with fairly small hole and rubber tube
rubber string silencers
anchor point
nock point
nock cushion
I think the draw weight is between 60 and 65 and length is around 29"...
its comfortable for me
arrows are: easton 2117's 31" long3-4" vanes (straight) and
BH: muzzy 115 gr. 4 blade
i use a caliper release, clip around the string no loop,i think is an allen it fits more like a glove than just a strap around the wrist..wallyworld around 17 bucks
bow is not comfortable with the stabilizer and i took off the quiver i prefer a hip quiver
just wanted any info or thoughts you could give me on this set up this is all the info i have...
and before you all laugh it is better than the bear blacktail hunter i was using and picked it up for 40 bucks at a yard sale(bow, 5 arrows, and airline approved plastic case, minus the rest and sight my bro gave those to me and i bought the muzzys (wanted the mx-4 100 gr.4 blade but oh well).
some questions i have:
can i order and install mathews max cam and wheel on this bow?
(brother came across a z-max on a good trade i like the way it draws).
and where can i find technical info online about this bow i cant find anything out there.
i know this was lengthy but i wanted everything in here that i knew about the bow.
thanks for reading

I can't help much with technical data as I don't have the information anymore. Used to shoot for Golden Eagle
Just want to mention that if you intend to shoot this bow then you need to change arrows. 2217's are way underspined for the length and draw weight of that bow. Check Easton's arrow charts for proper spine if you are staying with aluminum or if carbon then check the various manufacturers charts for them. One hint, if you go with Gold Tip carbons you should have XT 7595.

It might be possible to put a Mathews cam on that bow, but you'd have a devil of time with it. There is no way to know what size cam you'd need or what lengths of strings and cables you'd have to get to give you the draw length you want. Building a 'Frankenbow' (that's what we used to call it when we built bows from mix and match parts like that) is almost entirely a matter of trial and error. Mostly error.
And often we'd overstress the limbs or riser and something would inevitably break, sometimes with pretty alarming results! [:-]
Unless you've got a lot of experience tearing down and rebuilding bows, I'd most heartily advise against the conversion.

BG i tried that, I see what you mean now i would either have to use a 26" arrow or drop to about 43 lbs draw weight...could be the reason why it has taken me a month to get it to shoot right.
Authur.. I was going to have my brother help with that, but it sounds like alot of trouble...probably will nix that idea now that i know someone (me) might get hurt (and i love me too much for that)no matter who does the job and i am going to hunt with the bow this year
thank you bg and authur

Al,
I'm glad you read between the lines. As usual my fingers got ahead of my brain and typed in 2217 when I meant 2117. Same advice applies. Get properly spined arrows for the length and weight you intend to shoot. Then you see how much better a bow can shoot.
Sounds like you're relatively new to the sport so here's one more. On Easton's website download a copy of their Tuning Guide. Probably be one of the best pieces of information you'll ever get.

You are will after me. I shot for them and moved to hoyt and when Jim retired went to BearJenningd up till 4 years ago. I got a devorce after 38 years and married a younger lady and now I'm in NE and havn't been shooting any tournaments for 4 years. I still bowhunt Locally take two deer a year not like 4 years ago when I got to travaled alot around to other states to hunt, hunting two or three states a year. I got a new bow this year a Black Ice it's the first bow I have had to pay for sence the late 70s. It's a great bow I still can shoot 4 arrow groups that you can take one hand and wrap your finger around out to 50 yards and put a deer down with a clean shots and pass throughs in my old age, In my home shop I had about 10 bows around compounds and some of the recurves I shot 30 years ago and will never sell they have old memorys of my pass in them. I have sold most of the newer one off just sold two last month. At one time would get two are three new bows a year for target and also hunting bows. Also work in and around a pro shop for about 25 years.
