How do I change peep rotation ?
#1
I'm sick of the rubber tubing, and can't stand the type of peep that splits the string into 3 parts so that one of them seems to always be in the way of my sight picture.
I picked up one like this.

The one I have is not the same brand, but it is the same type that divides the strands into two groups and relies on the string's natural twist to rotate the peep to be oriented properly at full draw.
Gander Mtn installed the thing for me, but failed to check the peep's position at full draw. Go figure.
Anyway, I need to adjust it myself.
Do I twist the string (like when adjusting the brace height on a trad bow), or play musical string strands around the peep until it sits right?
Thanks

do you shoot with a loop and release?? if so, just follow your peep with your loop. it its twisted to the right at let down, move your loop so its to the right when let down...when you hook up, you should rotate the peep with the loop and be good to go...

Twist (or untwist) the string but you'll need a press to do it. You can do it by passing strands around the peep but that's dicey under full tension for breaking a strand.

It's EAZZY if the knots are like the ones in the picture. By sliding the bottom knot up the string at the peep the peep will rotate to the right,by sliding the top knot down will rotate the peep to the left beats flipping strings. EAZZY

true, eazy but i would never count on it holding. those knots always slide away from the gap.
make adjustments 1/2 twist at a time - shoot it a few times and if you need more go another half twist.

Thanks for the help guys.
As I messed around with this, I noticed something interesting...
The peep rotates less during the draw if the string is less twisted.
It seems to be easier to make adjustments to a string that has fewer twists.

a string w/out enough twists in it parachutes when shot, slowing down the arrow
Got a suggestion?
Christine, what are you doing in Technical? (saw me wander out of the bowfishing section again, eh?)
