limb twist
#1
I noticed a couple days ago that the top limb on my Guardian seems to be twisted a little. The right side limb seems to be maybe about a quarter inch lower than the left limb. Being new to archery, I don't know if this is what is meant by cam lean or not. The cam looks to be sitting straight. I noticed this twist after I turned up the poundage about 3lbs. I am still about 4 turns from botteming out the limbs bolts. The cable is really touching the cam now. It did before I noticed this but it seems to have gotten worse. The cable doesn't show any real bad signs of wear.
I am afraid that this twist in the limb may cause the string to come out of the grove or damage the cables. I already had the string break once on me. My proshop tech said the the knot at the top of the string was bad or something like that. It actuallybent the grove in the cam and slipped out at full draw. I am lucky that I had the arrow pointed at my target and that I only got a chuck of skin taken off my bow hand. The string and limbs were replaced for me on that occurance.
Is the accuracy of the bow going to be a little comprimised? What can I do to correct this lean or twist? Whichever it is. Do I need to put twist in the opposite side cable? Should I take it back to the proshop? The proshop is over 100 miles away and I won't have time to go for at least three weeks unless I take off work or cancel hunting trip. Speed Goat season starts in 10 days.
