Default WB: Original QS

I'm having some trouble getting a Whisker Biscuit Original Quick Shot to mount on my bow properly. The problem is that the cableguard gets in the way...so despite a variety of positions I put it in, I'm always getting a very low mount; I have to put the 'biscuit' fairly far to the right and to get it far enough to the right I have to lower the mount so it doesn't hit the cable guard. The question here is am I doing something wrong? What are the possible solutions? I know I could probably lower my nocking point to make up for the low mount. I have a Drop Tine quick shot on another bow, and because it angles downward (theOriginal does not, it's just a straight piece of hardware)I had a proper mount, where the center of the arrow passes through the upper 1/3 of the mounting bolt hole. Right now the Original QS is fixing to go back to the store and get replaced by a Drop Tine, or I might just use my old prong rest that I can also mount properly. Unless you pros can give me some advice for the Original WBJust FYI I am not the kind of guy that will take a rest to a pro shop to have it mounted for me; I've had no problems mounting my Drop Tine or prong rest so I don't intend on letting the professionals charge me when I can just upgrade the rest and mount it myself.

I've made my decision. The Original Quick Shot is going back. Not worth the trouble. I'll get a Drop Tine whisker biscuit or maybe a full contain drop away. Thanks for your concern

In case you have not yet taken it back, the original WB mounts with the mounting bar at a downward angle, about 45deg. or so. Then the rotating bar that the biscuit itself is mounted to is angled so that the biscuit is parallel with the string. It is a little complicated to adjust, but actually has much more adjustment in it than the Drop Tine WB has.

I agree.

The Drop Tine is my least favorite of the Whisker Biscuit rests because you have to move your nock to adjust any arrow level issues, whereas the original and the deluxe you can move the rest up and down. The latter having the micro adjust marks.

You should be able to adjust it so that the cable rod won't touch and still have it in the correct position.

Pics would indeed help.

I'll give it one more try I rotated the cable guard a wee bit to the right and mounted it. I'll see what I can make it do this time.

Still couldn't get it working right. I'll be taking it back.I did, however, mount my old prong rest on it and got the results I was looking for. Here is a 5 shot group at 50 yards:

It measures 5 1/2" across and there's 2" of vertical play. Tell me if that's respectable.
