RE: problems with carbon express
carbon techs sure fly, but they're way weaker walled than any arrow i've ever shot. i had 4 cheetah 3d's crack from only getting their back slapped this month. love 'em, won't buy them again for another couple years until i've forgotten how easily they break. the hippos did the same thing. i'd never hunt with one, never.

RE: problems with carbon express
I had a brand new Carbon Express Maxima 250 break on the first shot last year. Carbon Express sent me a new arrow but it always made me nervous thereafter. I am going back to Goldtip Pro's this summer.

"That's all it would take if it impacts in the wrong spot. Carbons and rocks just don't go together, no matter what the size. You don't even have to be able to see a visible flaw for it to be there, next thing you know you've got half a carbon arrow sticking out of your bow hand. Get those rocks out of your sand or shoot an actual target. Bunkers work great for aluminum shafts but there's no way I'd shoot carbons into one! Would you run sandpaper down your shafts and expect them to hold up indefinitely? "
I should have been more clear, I shoot into a block target, but have a bunker behind it just in case I miss, Which I did, when I put my new sight on yesturday. Not that it matters, but it is "cleaned" dirt, not sand. And by cleaned I mean it was tumbled and what not to get the big and medium sized rocks out. Sorry for not being clear on that.
I don't know what to think, like I said I love carbon express arrows, I have shot the 300's for 5-6 yrs now, and never had problems with them, but these new arrows I bought just don't seem to take the punishment that the 300's did. After I am done withthe rest of these I think I will switch back to 300's. I was just curious if anyone else had any problems with the maximas.

RE: problems with carbon express
I've had my Maxima hunters for about 6 months now without any trouble and my wife has shot her 250's for over a year and haven't had any similar problems either. Sounds like you got a bad group of arrows. If they were all like that, they wouldn't sell nearly as many as they do.
