Stabilizer

Definetly get a stabalizer. What makes them good or bad is their ability to balance the bow ("stabalize it") and also can help reduce noise and vibration. I use the SIMS Modular Stabalizer System and I like ita lot. Ive heard of people using the Tranquilizer stabalizer and having good results. My dad uses a Shockwave stabalizer and has good results. Im sure whichever one you choose will work good. Just make sure you get one.

I find myself starting to shoot the day without one. Then as my form begins to deteriorate, I screw one on if I am still shooting and cannot stop (aka...in the middle of a 3D shoot). It helps steady a shakey hand after a long day of shooting.
Otherwise I don't use them for hunting and would recommend not using one. But, everyone is different.

I'm not sure why anyone would recommend NOT using a stabilizer, but hey...I'm sure you have your reasons.
Stabilizers, at least the hunting variety, do add some stability to the front of the bow, but their main deal is vibration absorbtion. They quiet the bow.

They do add stability to the bow but can often hide improper form.
I have seen archers who shouldn't be drawing back 70#'s add a stabilizer to do exactly that. Stabilize their shaking. Why not just back down a few pounds on the draw weight and not add any additional weight to the bow.
For vibration, I recommend an STS over a stabilizer.
For as inexpensive as they are, it is always a good tool to have in the box whether you use it or not.
