Arrow building Question
I have been looking into building my own arrows because of the high price. Alot of you have said its cheaper to build your own but i was looking at shaft prices in my bass pro shop mag. and the shafts are only $10 cheaper than if I bought them already done. So by the time I bought the vanes, glue, inserts, etc... it would be cheaper to buy them already built. So I guess what i am asking is where do you guys buy your shafts from?

RE: Arrow building Question
You are correct. INITIALLY there is more cost involved. But when you figure in the frequency you buy arrows, the frequency to replace vanes and the time it takes your shop to replace vanes, it will come out cheaper in the end. Though not immediately. It also depends on what arrows you shoot. ie. I shoot ACC's..fletched we sell them for $160/dozen...raw shafts are $125/dozen...So the savings is immediately significant. The less expensive arrows like the Axis we sell for $105/dozen fletched and $90 raw shafts....
You also have supreme control of how your arrows are fletched. Besides, it's relaxing, fun, and a great way to learn more about archery.
