Default Sweating Hands?

While shooting my BK II my left starts to sweat, & the wood grip feels slipery. I have started to use a Bod Allen leather shotgun glove on my left hand, any grip changes I could make?

I have been tossing around the idea of taking the grip off & bead-blasting it, or maybe wrapping it with tennis raquet griping, yuck.

Make sure you don't let your hand slip around on your grip. You will really be inconsistant. Most grips (unless it's one of the aftermarket grips) cause some torque while shooting, even if you shoot with an open hand. So, it would probably be a good idea to take the grip off and wrap the "handle" with the tennis wrap or a cloth type tape. I personally shoot without a grip and have a "non-slip" (like sand paper) type tape on only on the back of the riser. remember you don't want any slippage

In competition pistol shooting many people use the "skateboard tape" that IMN23D mentioned. Its cheap, grips as well as checkering and is very inexpensive. The other advantage is that it does not change the shape or thickness of your grip.

AB, I shoot a P38DC, very similar to your BKII. I took the grip off and wrapped the riser with insulated mole skin I got from the archery shop. It works great, and insulates my hand from a cold riser on cold days.

I too am a "sweater" I don't like to put tape on the grip because it doesn't feel right to me so I use a rosin bag, just like those used by baseball pitchers. (can get one at any team sports shop), also, I've heard some guys will wipe their palm with a strong anti-perspirant like Mitchumn's. Don't know if it works but who knows?

What about bead blasting the grip, wouldn't the grip absorb my sweat if it didn't have that clear coat on it?
