i'm looking for my old posts. i think they are more than 30 days old. but the drop down bar for how many days to go back is only 30 in length.

I think I read yesterday where Frank said the server had crashed or something like that. That's why we all lost some posts. It might have gotten lost in the crash...

Search has been limited to 30 days for a few months now. They must have been trying to speed up searches by limiting the data being searched. Before this change, it was impossible to search back a year. Six month searchs had been working, but as the database grew it slowed. It is a shame because so much information is not accessable. I'm sure the admins realize this. Hopefully there is a solution to this problem...many simultaneous searchs on a large SQL database on the hardware they have available.

You can search manually. Go to the "Show Topics From Last ___ Days". Increase the pages to up to a year, and start opening them. It helps if you can remember an approximate date. Open a page and do a quik check of the dates and go forward or back from there.

Good tip, Nub. You prompted me to look around a bit more, and I think I'll start using the Active Topics link to watch several forums at once.
