Just bend at the waist and use good form. You should be good from just about underneath your treestand to as far as you're cabable of shooting. If you're hitting high, your form is off. There's no magical formula and the first few posters were right on.

I like to practise the shot I think I'm going to have to take. That means scouting out the place I will hunt very early in the year, what the conditions are, distances, cover, body position, and practise the actual shot back home. After some ofthose and seeing them happen you'll be better at doing it off the cuff.
Good hunting!

my brother and i practice every year before archery season shooting out of our tree stand at a 3d deer target. the guy on the ground moves the deer around for different yardages and different angles. we do this in the woods so it gives us areal good idea of what its like in real hunting situations. i think this is the best form of practice you can do if your a tree stand hunter. practice practice practice.

Just remember, when shooting from elevated positions, the higher the elevation, the smaller the vital area on your game! A great video that explains this is Shot Placement 101!!
