Default RE: string release

Mobowhunter, first of all I am in no way an expert. However, in practice, I don't understand you when you say that adding something roughly a 1/2" onto your string, and then clipping your release onto it, rather than your string does not affect your draw length. Do you really think that someone who has shot with the same release point for years is going to move that release point back 1/2 inch when they add a loop? Unless they move their release point back, they are pulling the string back 1/2" less..ie they have 1/2" less of draw length, less fps, less kinetic energy. Probably some of you all can alter your release point at will...I don't think I can.

I just measured my string loop and it is almost 3/4" long. Unless I am misunderstanding something, my 30" draw is actually only 29 1/4" actual. If I was to clip the string loop off I would suddenly have an actual 30" draw length, because I know I wouldn't change my release point.Once again, you all can do the math better than I, but I think 3/4" can make quite a difference in fps and KE.

If I am misunderstanding something please explain it to me, this stuff confuses me to no end. Thanks!!
