Default Can I raise the draw weight on my patriot??

Is it possible to raise the draw weight on the patriot beyond the standard factory 70 lbs.
If so how can I do it and what is the max I can get out of it?
Thanks for any input.

PS. I recently posted a discouraged topic about problems with my new patriot.
to make a long grueling story short, two torn strings, cams, axles, and a $50 shipping bill to bowtech later It ended up the dealer was installing the string improperly.
Not to mention I did'nt get my bow set up untill two days before the season.
IT is shooting great now and I would'nt trade it for anything.

For your own good do'nt ever go to BB Archery in KC Missouri.

Sorry for rambling on about my bad experience but you can probably understand.

What do you mean by improperly? How exactly was the dealer installing the string?

More than 70lbs, why? I have been hunting with 60lbs for some time with pass thoughs at 45 yards on Elk 370 grain arrow.

Personally I feel 70 lb. is too much but if you like it there and can handle it then good. You can up the weight some when the limbs are maxed by either twisting up your cable (to shorten it) or untwisting your string (lengthening draw). I wouldn't go over board but (if memory serves) about 1/4" on the cable =5 pounds.

Something else you might consider though I cannot guarantee the results would be to try adding a set of the PSE NV system dampeners to the bow. For whatever reason, every time that I install them on a bow the peak draw weight goes up 3-4 lbs. That translates into roughly $16 a pound but you can always take them off if you ever sell it...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

If you need to increase the &quot;grunt factor&quot; on your Patriot just move the draw stop to decrease the let off.

I mean improperly exactly as I stated it.
I'll try to better explain myself.
on the draw length module side of the infinity cam there is the main post that you loop the string onto, from there it has a series of five posts the string rides over ,ok when I bought it the string was looped onto the main post but they had it strung over the 3rd post instead of stringing it over all of them.the 2nd time it was'nt even looped on the main post but on the 3rd post, these post are designed to have the string run over the top not around them, and they where cuting the serving right by the loop, the loop would come undone and there goes my string.
also they told me I can change the draw length by puting the string over a different post that is not right one has to change modules for drawlength adjustment on the infinity cam. bowtech was who educated me on that.

Wow! I'm glad you were not hurt! If I were you I wouldn't give that archery shop another red cent.

I'm glad to hear it's not a problem with the bow but rather the dealer or shop worker. As much as I hate to say it I think I'd either have a nice long talk with this dealer (I think I'd maybe ask if this was done on purpose or by accident) or I'd just take my buisness elsewhere.

This is a case of a Dealer, evidently chosen by BowTech, who was not educated or needs to be educated for the safety and preservation of a customer base.

I won't say that this Dealer is the sharpest knife in the drawer; but, he/she made an honest mistake. PSE makes the Synergy cam and manufacturers for years have made post adjustment cams. The Dealer evidently 'assumed' that the post feed cam was designed that way for draw length adjustment.

I think it is, now that BTS and the BowTech factory know about this situation, the manufacturer's responsibility to adequately educate their Dealers, and especially the one mentioned, so that this doesn't happen again.
