Default helical question for Whisker Biscuit

I orginal posted this in the Bow huinting froum and realized I hould have posted int HERE ,

Looking for others with experience shooting helical fletched arrows through a WB,, I am shooting a Swtichback at 70 lb with 27 inch AC SUPERSLIM's. and my Whsiker Biscuit with 100 grain Steel force and NAP 100 gr Crossfrie. I know I am probably dumb for changing form the Muzzy ZERO EFFECT to the WB, but I wanted somewthing stable to hold my arrow and the groups I get with my field points are DEAD ON. I am talking 6 arrows in a tennins ball at 30 Yds.

My broad heads however dive right and low about 3" by 3" at 20 yard as and 5x5 at thirty. I have tried two differerent BH and in thecrossfire and the Steel force with same results.

The folks at easton sugggested lower weight(which had no effect) or a different rest. I am beginning to think the spine may be weak in the these arrows. I Am going to try the 340's in case the flecthing change does not improve my the result.

Any one else have similar results or can tell me what kind of helical they have shot through a WB.

THANKS all help appreciated!!!

Default RE: helical question for Whisker Biscuit

First of all, you can use as much helical as you want, especially with feathers. I found that even 4" full helical vanes only cost 2 fps compared to straight offset vanes. With feathers, there should be no speed loss.

Though obviously you are shooting very well, I suspect the rest is off just a bit. The logical move would be to move the rest lower, and see if it helps, then maybe left a bit in separate adjustments. The Biscuit responds to very small changes, so only move it 1//16" or less at a time. The other thing to keep in mind is that the Biscuit can also show "reaction" as well as "action." The arrow could be coming off slightly tail high/right, and what you are seeing in the BHs is the reaction of the fletch end of the arrow being forced down and left by the Biscuit. I've often solved Biscuit tuning issues by moving in the opposite direction from what would seem logical. I'm guessing you are shooting the 400 size arrows. I think there could be a spine issue @ 70# with a fast bow like the Switchback, even with 27" arrows.

Just out of curiosity, how did the bow shoot with the Muzzy? Did you shoot broadheads with it at all?
