Default has anyone noticed slick tricks being loud in flight

i just picked up a pack of 100gr. slick tricks and noticed they were a little loud in flight. i obviously checked for "vane" probs, there were none, and then shot my muzzies, which were noticably more quiet. has anyone else experienced this? besides that they flew great, better than the muzzies.........thought i would never change!!!

Its been discussed a lot on many forums. I took a video camera out and put it downrange once and shot several different heads past it to see if I could hear the different sounds the heads made. From that I concluded that different heads make different sounds, but not each wasn't necessarily louder than another. Not really scientific with a db meter or anything, but interesting nonetheless. I haven't done it yet with the Tricks.

Even the loudest broadhead isn't as loud as your bow at the shot.

Besides that a "wind" type noise isn't alarming to a deer like a sharp twang is from your bow. My arrows fletched with helical feathers makes a hissing noise with field tips.

I think it's good to have a little noise from your arrow during flight.
It gives the deer a sporting chance.

I'm not so sure about that. Just my feather fletchings alone are louder then my longbow.

But out of the compound, I really didn't notice slick tricks being very loud as compared to other broadheads. If you want silent, you would have to go to a non-vented blade.

That is true. Those long/ recurve bows are about as quiet as it gets.
