HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHANGE MY STRING LOOP? AND HOW DO I STOP SPLITTING MY ARROWS?

i usually get one before i start shooting in the spring every year.

Maybe shoot at different targets?

Pretty much the case--you'll notice some slight 'shrinking' where the release calipers connect to the loop, you may want to change the loop at this time
It's only about $3. to have that changed andIwould say it's better thangetting nose.
What you should pay more attention to are the two knots on the lood, make absolutely certain they're properly secured--usually the knots come loose before the loop rope gives!!!

Well it's a good thing i checked up on this before i shot today cuz after i read this i pulled on the loop and it came off!! thanks man!
