Default advice needed

I killed a coon on Thursday. I had him skinned, fleshed and streached on Friday. He has been streached and salted since then. I scraped it off every day and changed it and such, not sure if that was correct or not but I hadnt done it before, and today I turned it back right side out and combed it and there wasnt any slippage.
OK, heres the advice part, and its 2 questions.
#1 what do I use to get the "wild coon" smell out of the fur? Would febreez or somethin like that work?
#2 Do you think that its dry? Is 5 days salted and streached enough?

Like I said, I havent done this before and it was just a coon that I more less put down. Its not a pelt to be sold, just one I thought "why not" so I whinged it Any ideas?

Thanks!

Personally, if you done all that work and don't want to sell it, I would invest in a bottle of tanning formula and make it a piece of decor. The scent could've been taken care of by washing in a soap such as dawn(grease remover). The tanning formula may also take the scent out a little.
