Split them and get the bone out. Rub the skin with borax and let dry.

skin your squirrel and when you get down to the tail just pull the skin carfefully and it usually will peel right off the bone with out tearing, but sometimes it will tear and it's ruined. But sometimes it come right off and just clip the tail portion from the rest of the skin or do a complete skin with tail. tack the skin to a board stretched out and put salt all over it and let it dry in the sun for a few days. if you just want the tail do nothing it will just dry.
