TT go ahead and ROTF and LYAO... I know a Taxidermist and he does great work in the 300-350... I've done my home work and I have no shortage of specimens to practic on...
I'm sure you do great work and if people chose to pay your prices good for you...

And that is the reason you pay a professional (see Roost pic). I have no problem with someone not paying my prices, but I bet you'd pay a plumber, electrician, mechanics prices. Where is the difference? A professional is a professional and there are plenty of books and such to learn that on your own. The $300 turkey mount is all fine and good, if it fits your idea of a good turkey mount. I know of some great taxidermists that sell themselves short everyday, do I need ? I think not. The people that spend money with me feel that they are getting a good deal of they wouldn't spend it with me.

Awesome turkey mount NCTaxi! Well worth the price. People just don't realize the hours ofwork that goes into a mount of that quality. I guess some taxidermists don't mind making $5.00 an hour for their labor. I'll bet very few hunters ( that complain abouttaxidermy prices)would work for that wage!

I agree,a lotof the time, when it comes to most things, you truely do get what you pay for. Most dont understand the amount of time that goes into onetaxidermy piece, and hardly anyonethinks about how long that it took the taxidermist to getto be as goodas he/she is!In my own opinion, the honest high priced taxidermists well deserves the right to have their prices that high because im sure they went several years starting out earning that $5.00 an hour rate or less. Thanks to everyone for the compliments.
