Pointer Training??
#2

Welcome to the versatile dog family.
My three "go to" books for starters are:
1) The Navhda Green Book....requires Navhda membership. Invaluable in my mind.
2) How To Help Gun Dogs Train Themselves by Joan Bailey
3) Training The Versatile Hunting Dog by Chuck Johnson
Several other great books are out there...and you'll get those titles from some others, I'm sure. These 3 were awesome reads that I learned alot from and still fall back onto on occasion.
Remember that the first 4 months of your dog's life with you are probably the most important, as far as discipline, training, habits, etc. Don't slack off during these crucial times....but keep it fun and don't over do it either. Short and fun sessions whether it's simple toss and retrieves, water intro...whatever.
Best of luck, and look forward to seeing this pooch in the "Let's See Your Dawgs Thread"
