Some of the money from the sale of Eukanuba went out to groups that were backed by PETA. They have said to have changed course after world got out, but I still wouldn't buy it. That was a very damaging trick that i do not think they would ever recover the losses afterwards..

you look at those dogs shows and its full of PETA people...
so, its good business for dog food co.
hunting dog is in fields/woods, no way to advertize as much as dog shows..
hunters are way down and we are losing hunters..
so, they will go where money is.
i agree with you...
diamond just came out with new food for hunting dogs, its DIAMOND EXTREME..

if they do then they loose hunters. The second of which I would think is a much smaller part of their revenue.

When we feed store bought, we feed Purina Pro Plan, or Pro Plan Select. Most of the time, I feed a raw diet though. Right now I got hooked up with a guy who processes deer and he is giving me his scrap. We feed bones and all. We also supplement with some veggies.
A lot of people have told me that if I feed my coon hounds venison, they will run deer. Well, I have never had my dogs run a deer, and they have all had their chances. I've also fed raw beef, and I have never had them run a cow.
I freeze the meat for about 3 days before I feed it to them, then I just tie them out and put a big pile where they can all get to it. They eat as a pack and they rarely get aggressive over it.
Their coats all look nice and shiny, their teeth are great, and they put on a lot of muscle mass. Also, I get a lot less waste that I have to clean up. The other nice thing is that raw food processes through their system in about 3 hours, where dry food takes about 8-12. So I can feed mid day when I want to hunt them at night.

I used to be a Diamond feeding man, but my beagles went south a few years ago. I doubled the feed and they still looked like I was starving them to death. I switched over to black bag of Black Goldand that is my choice and recommendation ever since. No more dry skin issues, lots of stamina, well muscled dogs. I just got a dog I owned as a puppy back and he was in really bad shape. I have had him for about a month now and other than being a little narrow in the rear end, he is looking really good. I actually took him out hunting today and he did better than I would ever have expected.
Black Gold is where it is for me.
