Puppy Peed in Kennel!
#1
Goose my 9 week old puppy a lab peed in his kennel two days in a row. I come home from work at 10am....12for lunch...and 3pm to take him out becaue I know his bladder is small. Im concerned becasue I hear they will never pee in their kennel where they sleep. It's just a little portable kennel to. What can I do to help him not to do this? The vet told me at his age he can hold his bladder up to 5 hours or more. I come home almost ever 2 hours???? Any help????

With consistancy on your part (just keep letting him out every couple hours) he will get used to the routine andgrow out of it. Sometimes it can take up to six months for the bladder muscles to fully develop enough for them to hold it for extended lengths of time.
Never, say never.

**** Happens, anything can Happen. I have pups that have been crating since about 6 weeks with no mishaps. But I have had my 7 yr dog have an "accident" in a crate. The dog don't like it any more than you do. Give it time.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep the same schedule and he will learn that he can wait for you since you will be home soon. At 9 weeks old he is just a baby and just doesn't realize that he can wait. He is also very very young and despite what the vet says, not all dogs at 9 weeks can hold it for 5 hours.
I would also try to remove his water. He doesn't need free access all day long. Try to give him water in the morning, take itaway, andthen give it back at 3 pm. He may be drinking water out of boredom.

Do not EVER leave food or water in the kennel.
Make sure that you watch your puppy pee before you put her back in the kennel.
Make sure that you see that sheempties & doesn't just "mark"after she drinks.
We use a "pee" command on our dogs before they come in the house, and they do pee on command.
Accidents will happen.
