can't help you with NC but here in GA we have some WMA's that consistantly produce good bears Dawson Forest,Chestatee,Chatahochee, and several more.plus there is some good national forest land around them that can be hunted.

I hunt bears here in north carolina.. The mountains or the coast are great for black bears.. Look at a boone and crockett map of black bears in the nation.. Coastal Carolina has some of the biggest bears in the eastern u.s... Croatan National Forest and a few other places I know is where I hunt them.. alot of the mountain folks drive all the way here for hunting bear... I see alot of bears while deer and turkey hunting..
So my vote is for carolina...

NC is great for bear hunting. I have killed 3 in the past 4 years. I would recommend Martin, Bertie, Pasquotank,Tyrell counties. This year I got a 450 lb, my biggest yet. I just returned this weekend from a hog hunt in SC at Cinnamon Ridge. Didn't even see a hog, but god the deer and turkey there were incredible. Anyone know of an area in NC I can find Hogs (Feral)? I have heard there are starting to be some in the uwharrie National forest.

Yeh cinnamon ridge is WAAYYYYY over priced. That guy must think his hogs are made of gold. North Carolina has several areas of Feral Hogs. I myself have just found them within the last 6 months. This one spot somebody told me about.....they just happened to see one on the side of the road. I knocked on a few doors landowner looked at me like I was retarded when I mentioned hogs on his property. He had never seen one. He let us hunt and we killed 2 in one weekend. Not so bad for a place where folks say theyre aint no hogs.!!!!!
