depends upon which calender that was used during that time, don't it... and it's NOT the same calender we use today.

Hey everybody,
I am formerly from WV and I can tell you that REM1100 represents exactly 0% of many of the hunters and friends that I still have there and get to see on occasion.

There was then such an outcry, mostly from the self acclaimed morally superior church goers, that it was left up to the counties to decide if they would oppose the new amendment (thus re-instating the ban) or not.

In the meantime REM1100--I suggest you get a new job (one where you can have sundays off) or your goin strait to hell
Sundays are for MORE than hunters,Bro... and the "outcry" came from ALL over the sate...you obviously had friends that were in the minority....
..BTW...as for my job, I'm helping those who FOUGHT FOR YOUR FREEDOM,but that may not mean much to you ,huh?......and thank God the Heaven/Hell decision isn't yours to make.....

When talking about you going to hell--- it wasn't meant to be taken literally--I was just using the dramatic to illuminate how ridiculous your protection of Sunday is. And of course my friends are in the minority, as are all hunters--just thought that church goers might have taken a longer and more serious look at the issue--before they adamantly opposed it thus joining the ANTIs on this issue and alienating most of the hunting community in WV. It is terrible to have a continued ban on Sunday hunting---It is much worse to have the ban lifted, then reinstated by groups who feel THEY have the right to make decisions for everyone based on their own sense of morality---localized manifest destiny.

I've lived and hunted here in Virginia on private land all of my life, my own brothers infact hunt with a club and use dogs, they are owners of deer beagles. Though I don't hunt with them (there was a time growing up where I did), I do know they do things legally as do many clubs. But I still would like to see deer dogs be limited to fewer days they can be used. As for the Redneck comment, I apologize but after this season I have no respect for the club that hunts next to my land, they trespass, cripple deer and trash the woods. I sit there during the season and listened to them talk on their hand held radio's and I learned a lot about them that you, me or anyone wouldn't like. I'm sorry If I offended you

Pearl...

I will have to say I wrote that this morning in a not so good mood... I was not attacking you I just dislike people being grouped together and yes I am guilty of it time to time myself...

I know what you mean about clubs putting a bad taste in your mouth... I did not grow up hunting with dogs I was brought up to be in a tree before light and sit until I had to leave for other reasons, got my limit or it got dark so for awhile I was not a fan of the dogs... It wasnt until I was around 20 or so that I got a taste of it and it has stuck to a degree... Like I said I could care less if I shot I simply enjoy the company and hearing the dogs work. BUt while I am pro dogs I do however dislike a number of clubs around the area for the methods they practice.. I feel they are not only hurting the image of dogs hunters as a whole but the hunting population as a whole to the non hunting public.. yes there are ones who make me so mad I could spit nails.. madder than I was when I wrote my post this morning.. Yes there is a small part of me that would like to see them not start dogs until the monday after thanksgiving so that it starts after the rut is finished for the most part...

SO like I said most of the time you will see me bow in hand but some times you will catch the old shotgun with me!!!

NO harm No foul Pearl... just had to speak my mind this morning lol

By the way lets get this Sunday ban lifted !!!! LOL

IMHO:
it is no more morally incorrect for me to spend a sunday hunting than it is for two people of the same sex to flaunt themselves in public or have their faces plastered all over the television telling me how appropriate it is for them to be allowed to share wedding vows!!!!!!!

and besides that,,,it so much easier for me to teach my son proper hunting procedures,,,than it is to explain what a fag & lesbo are tryin to prove to the world

Thank You

OK Clearly it seems that many of the devout Christians on the board feel strongly that Sunday is a day to worship. I get it ,,,but ,,,,what about non christians? Is it the consensus of the faithful that people of other faiths should be forced to conform to the practices of others?

One of the posters of this thread actually said that,,

"Christianity IS the only religion that THIS country should be following..like it or not. "

That just floors me! I thought this country held freedom in high regard. I know that the Founders wanted freedom of religion not freedom from religion but if my religion says that its OK to hunt on sunday then according to the guys that formed this great republic I should be free to pursue that pastime.

It is no more right for Christians to force Christianity on some one than it is for Muslims to force Islam on someone. And by the way both religions encourage the faithful to convert non-believers, although by extremely different methods.

Just my thoughts. I'd especially like to hear from UnitedMethodistPreacher on this since as a man of the cloth you're the duty expert.

I'm a Christian and I think people should have the choice on how they spend their Sunday's. Personally, I would probably not hunt on Sunday mornings, but my church does not have Sunday evening service so that would definately be a possibility. I do not think God wants to be forced on anyone. I believe he wants you to choose HIM. There's my .02 worth!

for those who have an issue about it if there were sunday hunting its not like we would be forcing you to go hunting. you can go to church or rest or remember the sabbath or do whatever. i just dont see if 43 other states have no problem with it then why cant we have sunday hunting? and rem i mean dude do you even see how you look when you post the things you post? i may not agree with same sex marraiges and all that but i mean are the gay people humpin in your livin room? didnt think so so give it a rest. if gays and lesbians want to be together then whatever it doesnt affect my life none so who am i to give a damn. unless you have some serious homophobic issues. or security issues. or maybe your just so good looking that your afraid they may hit on you. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no but really none of us have the right to force religion on anyone and this country has open the borders for hundreds of years to all races and religions and thats why we have the country we have so there is no majority race or religion anymore and there is no minority. there is only one word left AMERICANS like it or not but i hear there is excellent deals on waterfront property in iraq with cheap oneway plane tickets. wear your sandals and send us a post card.
