Hi all. Spend most of my time in the bowhunting section but my dad is looking to come down and hunt deer and has asked me along so figured to see about any information I can get, pro and con. It will be rifle hunting and he is looking to hunt the Thornbury plantation (Northampton county)- www.huntthornbury.com - and I was wondering if anybody has any information on that area that may be helpful or any other places that he may be interested in checking out. Thanks in advance. Jon

NORTH HAMPTON county is one of the best counties in NC as far as deer population.should see plenty of deer and can take 2 a day.probably wont kill any big racked deer, but should have a good time.good luck

IroquoisArcher, expect to see alot of deer. I hunt in Northampton Co and it's full of deer. You might wanna check out OccenecheeNeck lodge too. There right next to thornbury plantation and there website is on this site under guides. There is also roanoke river outfitters they have a good place too. I think there web site is roanokehuntlands.com
