Republicans and Sunday hunting

The only vote that matters to most politicians is a vote for them. I will be really surprised if Allen replies to the emails concerning where he stands on hunting on Sundays. It is a state issue and one that a US Senator should probably leave up to the state representatives.

You pick the issues that are most important to you, and I will pay close attention to the issues most important to me.
Thats what makes this system great.

Virginia House Republicans and the Leadership are actively fighting to restrict my time in the hunting woods. That makes them anti-hunting in my book.
I will not support a party Leadership that is anti-hunting. I've been involved in the SH struggle for the last 3 years and it has gone from everyone is against us to now just a few Republicans are standing between me and my kids gaining the hunting time needed to spend together in the woods.
This from the party that professes to support my favorite pastime? Sorry, I call BS on that one. In local politics Democrats are doing more, almost unanimously, for hunting than the supposed party of the hunter. It is just now that we are calling them on it. If they don't get with the program of actually supporting the Virginia hunter then they should suffer the consequences.
I'm hearing it from more and more hunters saying that this is spilling over into the national elections. I agree, the national elections and federal politicians have no vote on whether or not I hunt on Sunday. However, the national guys have to realize that the local Republicans are packing their bags to send them off to DC and House of Reps nonsupport of hunters is having an affect on those national elections. I think they should feel the pressure and say "Hey Speaker Howell, Delegate Sherwood and Delegate Ware, what the hell are you doing??!?!? You need to support the hunters in Virginia because I'm loosing votes up here!"
I don't want to see Kaine or BO win. However, the Republican have made their bed and have been warned for years that this was coming. Now they need to lie in that bed or change their stance. It would be a real kick in the crotch if BO wins Virginia by a narrow margin. Don't blame me, blame the party that professes to be the "party for hunters".

I agree with you brewman. Sunday hunting is very important to me, but there are a lot of issues, especially at the national level, that are more important for my kids and future grand kids. Kaine will vote with Obama come hell or high water....and IMO this will not be good for our future generations. What good will it be in the future if we can hunt on Sundays but only a select few are allowed guns?
