For the size of the property it is really really low. GS is 50,692 acres. Last year there were 19 gobblers killed with 1051 hunter days, year before was 30 with 1896 hunter days. GS is some of the heaviest hunting pressure in the state, but it is one of the few you can walk in to and hunt after the first 2 days with 200 permits a day.

^ Beat me to it! Taking a look at the harvest reports for the place you'll definitely see a drop in harvested birds as the years go on. There's plenty of birds to be had, it's just a matter of putting in the time and finding one that wants to cooperate.

Seems numbers for everything is down out there. I'm looking forward to seeing how much the new antler regs help the deer out. I spent a lot of time out there scouting late season and small game. I seen enough deer to make me want to put a few places on the back burner for those days I want to hunt but can't travel.

The new regs are definitely going to do something. I'd say in 3ish years we'll start seeing some higher quality bucks. I think what we need now is some dang doe permits...It's almost like they know they're not being pursued, they'll just stand 50 yards from me staring during gun season, unfazed haha.

Oh man you are reading my mind. The does in the areas I hunt are brazen. And I hear numbers tossed around about buck doe ratio and I have no clue where they are coming up with them. There are places that 20 to 1 is probably low near me.
