Thanks guys...yes he was in rut...glands were black and had the smell of the rut so strong i smelt it from about 60 yds where he dropped wbile still in the stand

Thx Joey..{-; mine was not in rut..plan to hit the swamp hard next week..going to be COLD I understand...mine had lots of fat on it..most I've ever seen for a FL deer.

Yea i personally believe the deer like that are ones that still carry the northern genetics brought in by northern deer back in the 50s n 60s...one 6 pt. i had mounted body wise is bigger than all the rest and was aged at 2.5 yrs. old and his hair is longer than all the rest as well...just my opinion
