Hawgz problem is other states have it also. QDMA!!!
It' s all about folks wanting bigger deer. large racks! well look what happens when someone kills a really big deer. the land in the area get high priced or you can' t hunt cause of so many folks trying to get that big deer.
Then the big money boys come in run you off and sell hunts to yuppies . build a big " lodge" where your old memory filled camp was . look at south texas! canada, kansas.
you know in europe hunting was only for the rich is it going to be that way in our country soon?

well, I know some people are meat hunters, and would just as soon shoot a spike as a 6 point. I have nothin against these hunters. and I think there are some WMA and NWR that don' t have the 3 point rule. I know felsenthall didn' t have it till last year, then it went into affect. I like the three point rule myself. we have 1200 acres leased, and now, with the 1 doe limit, and the 3 point rule, maybe we can finally get some decent bucks on our lease. I don' t gun hunt anymore, I strictly bowhunt. now if I can just get these gunhunters to quit shootin at these deer at 300 yds thinkin it' s a doe, then when they get to it, realize it' s a 3 or 4 point .[:@]
we have some of the trigger happiest hunters in ar.[:' (]
don' t get me wrong, I love the meat to. but I usually get a doe perty early, then I' ll usually get a shot at a nice buck durin the pre rut and rut, so me and the wife can make it on 2 or 3 deer.

I can only comment on the parts of the state that I deer hunt in......N.E. (Greene co.) and S.E. (Drew co.) I see a great deal more does than bucks in these regions and know several hunters besides myself that filled their tags last season, so It' s hard for me to understand the complaints of some hunters that they are not seeing deer like the years before. I guess it' s true about the squeeky wheel getting the grease. The A.G. & F. Comm. seems to have heard them. It also seems that if fewer deer were harvested this past season, that would mean more deer survived to breed and have offspring. Like soarkrebel said, we may have more liberal bag limits in the future as a result, but I think the changes should have been made to the regions affected and not the entire state. This is just my opinion of course and I' m sure AG&F have researched this more than me.

I am glad they cut back on the ole slicks, however I realize some ares need to be able to harvest does, but in the river valley it has realy been hurtin us. just seeing deer has been tough, but I still managed to get a nice 8 point with my bow, so I do like the 3 pt rule my average buck since in place has been a young 8 pointer and I' ll take that any day.
