RE: Green Swamp Update..
Chuck,
Man you had a real mixed season. It is awesome you saw a good number of deer and a nice buck, but what a bummer not getting the buck!!yep..every time that is brought up ..my son does it alot..it HUMBLES me..I hate myself fo rlettng that deer get away..I was also thinking well if I'm quiet he'll beback BOLOGNA!![:@]If you were another mile deeper in the woods you would have had a nice drag to get that deer out. yep..I would have dealth with it..It would have been a good problemThat spot we went to was far enough to have to drag something. I hope you had your wheel barrow. I woul dhave gone back and gotten it..I wasn't actually on that trail Chris..I was in the area but a good mile from where your stand was..There are a few ways to get ot that spot..
I agree with you three pointers, but some of the areas I hunted this year I had to hunt about 14 feet off the ground so I could see.yep..a folding handsaw is nowin mybackpack. If I went higher I was above some branches and could not see. )-: I always like to get as high as I can (assuming the wind is not blowing).
That is neat on the CWP.AMEN!! I found a Hot place onPowderbut no way I'd walk through that crap during archery..Iwill now.I was about to suggest you get a .357 and shoot 38 in it for reduced recoil and carry .357. But if the .357 are that much more bulky than I would get the 38. You have to have something that is light enough to carry because it does no good at home. (-: Yep..I got a 357 and I'm pretty good shooting 38s..I'm all over the place shooting 357s..I was impressed with my friends Chief 38..It hides really good..I'd carry that one in the public..I'd carry my 357 during archery..
Are you going to do some turkey hunting? Same area where you were hunting..I understand that is a good spot..1 mile farther..[8D]I'll be there the entire season when I hunt...probably scout though and hunt farther down ..but stay on the trail..The trail is nice and high to build a portable blind..a friend of my princpal got 2 there last year..Our school spring break is during turkey season..I'll just hunt during the week to advoid the crowd.
Good hearing from ya Chris
