I have a Gamo Young hunter, it shoots 640 fps and it drops squirrels one shot. be sure to get a good scope also. my scope blows so I constantly have to keep readjusting it. But when it is on, the pellet goes right behind the squirrels ear. You definetly dont need 1,000 fps for squirrel. Also, dontbut the combo package from gamo. i made that mistake and the scope really blows.....
