1st yote
Yeeee Haaaa!!!!
I got my first yote today.
But I was hunting crows (Go figure!!)
I had the Death cry of a crow tape in my JS caller and had the speaker out in front of me about 30 yard out.
I had been there for about 15 minutes and had saw 2 crows but couldn’t get a shot.
I turned the caller off and was thinking about moving on to a different spot when I heard something in the leaves behind me and it was coming in full steam ahead.
I turned around and here it come straight at me or actually straight at the speaker of the caller but I was sitting between the yote and speaker.
I was thinking that if I didn’t do something fast I was going to have this yote in my lap.
I shouldered my Remington 1100 12 gauge with high brass #6 shot and boom! Dropped her at about 10 yards from me (WHAT A RUSH!!!). I remembered that allot of times there will be others with them so I sit still for about 15 minuets before moving.
I really think that this yote would have run over me if I hadn’t shot, she just never did see me.
If I would have had my Ruger 243 I don’t think I would have had time to make the shot she was just moving to fast.
I never thought about a yote coming to a crow call but I guess this yote was planing on having crow for dinner.

Congrats. on your first yote. Remenber, Whenever you are calling keep your eyes & ears open, you may have an unexpected vistor come in,as you,now,well know. Have your nerves settled down yet?<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
